I enjoyed the comedy that was incorporated into this book。 The character， Pipi， is a free-spirited， redhead that lives life to the beat of her own drum。 This is the type of book that children love because they often can relate to her imagination and rebellious nature。

I don't remember reading any Pippi Longstocking when I was growing up， and now that makes me a little sad。 This girl is fierce。 She's strong and loving and fun and generous and capable。 There were multiple passages in this short book that made me stop and think， "This is exactly what I want my daughter to learn。" My daughter is only 2， so I was worried there were going to be too many words per page to hold her interest， but I seriously underestimated the power of Pippi。 We read it twice the firs I don't remember reading any Pippi Longstocking when I was growing up， and now that makes me a little sad。 This girl is fierce。 She's strong and loving and fun and generous and capable。 There were multiple passages in this short book that made me stop and think， "This is exactly what I want my daughter to learn。" My daughter is only 2， so I was worried there were going to be too many words per page to hold her interest， but I seriously underestimated the power of Pippi。 We read it twice the first day we got it， and she sat in rapt attention for the entire book both times。 She definitely fell under Pippi's spell， too， insisting before she went to bed that she was Pippi。 I cannot wait to read more Pippi books！ 。。。more
